Chas Central London Became An Independent Charity On The 1st April 2003.
Chas Cl Provides Free And Independent Housing And Debt Advice Covering Geographically All Of London, Surrey, Middlesex, Hampshire, Kent, East & West Sussex, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Essex ,Bedfordshire & Devon
Chas Cl Has A Legal Services Commission Contract In Housing & Debt And Is Contracted To Provide Advice And Assistance To Tenants And Lessees Of Other Local Authorities And Of Housing Associations
Chas Is An Acronym For The “Catholic Housing Aid Society” Which Was Formed In 1959 And Was One Of The Founders Of Shelter And The Family Housing Association
CHAS CL works to prevent homelessness, both by helping people who are homeless or badly housed, and by assisting the campaign to tackle the root causes of homelessness.
CHAS CL is a member of the Housing Justice Alliance of Advice Agencies. Housing Justice’s Policy and Education Team combines expertise in both housing policy and adult education to raise people’s awareness of housing and homelessness and equip them to tackle the long term causes of homelessness.
